The Rocky Mountain Swing Dance Club

Richard Jaynes

I started dancing country two step in 1984 and some ballroom dances but none really grabbed me. Began dancing West Coast Swing in 1996 and I have recently ventured slightly into Argentine Tango. I was a past president of RMSDC, am on the current board of directors for the Denver Turnverein, and I am a dance instructor, competition judge and Swing Club DJ. The critical eye that I have developed for judging allows me to quickly see someone’s trouble areas and know what is needed to fix it. I realized that I should be sharing this information with our local dance community and I decided to teach. Soon to be a certified dance teacher by the Golden State Dance Teachers Association and a certified competition judge by the National Dance Dynamics Board of the World Swing Dance Council. Over the past 10+ years I have attended about 95% of the Sunday Dances. I love to dance West Coast Swing. Therefore, I have contributed my time and effort to RMSDC and the WCS dance community to assure that West Coast Swing continues to grow in the Denver area. We have one of the best dance communities in the entire country and I want to see it get even better.
